Plaice with spinach, pine nuts & capers

Bring out the delicate flavour of place with lemon, capers and pine nuts

Method

  1. Fold the plaice fillets over on a plate, put inside a steamer, season well and steam for 3-4 minutes. Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a large pan, throw in the spinach and stir until wilted.
  2. Mix together the capers, pine nuts and lemon juice. Spoon over the plaice and serve with the spinach and steamed new potatoes.

    Delicious. We served it with kale and roast sweet potatoes which was fantastic. Double up on the pine nuts for a real treat.

    I made this with Panga, similar to Plaice but cheaper. Flavour was exceptional. Would repeat for a dinner party as quick and simple to make.

    I have fried the plaice in butter instead of steaming it and it turned out fantastic. With the pine nuts and capers, it was an explosion of flavour, and it was so hassle-free too!
