- Line a baking sheet with baking parchment. Melt the chocolate. Spread with the back of a spoon into 12 rounds about 5-6cm across (you can draw circles with a pencil on the parchment then turn it over). Scatter the violets over, pressing down lightly to make sure they stick. Leave to set in a cool place, but not the fridge (this will discolour them). Peel away from the paper before serving.
Know-how
Grown-up chocolate buttons; try making them with white chocolate and crystallised rose petals, too. Buy crystallised flowers from specialist cake-decorating shops and delis, or mail order from squires-shop.com.
