Method

  1. Heat the oil in a frying pan, season the chops then fry until browned. Remove, add the onion and cook for about 10 minutes until soft and caramelised. Add the cider, bring to a bubble and reduce a little. Add the cream and mustard, stir, bring to a simmer then put the chops back in and cook for 8-10 minutes or until cooked through.
  2. Meanwhile, cook the spinach in a large pan or wok with a knob of butter and some seasoning until wilted. Serve the chops and sauce with the spinach.

Would use pork steaks next time as the chops I got were quite thick and needed a bit more cooking, and would also reduce the sauce a bit more. Good and simple recipe though!

Great store cupboard recipe, if you don't have double cream at hand use Greek yogurt. Tastes more tangy but still really good.

Instructions could perhaps be a little clearer but all in all I really liked it. The sauce was amazing. Next time I might use a stronger tasting cider as the one I used didn't have much taste.

Absolutely Delicous! I used chicken stock instead of cider and I added mushrooms with the onions, turned out great! Definitely one of my favourites!

Tasty & quick recipe but perhaps a little too rich for our tastes. May replace the cream with Greek yoghurt as another reviewer suggested. Love caramelised onions so added two large onions & used 150ml of dry white wine & 50ml of Metaxa brandy to replace the cider.
