Beets baked in a bag
A novel way to cook beets before adding to salads or serving as a side

- Heat the oven to 180C/fan 160C/gas 4. Divide the beets between 4 parchment bags or make foil parcels. Add a sprig of thyme, a knob of butter and a few drops of balsamic to each and seal. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until the beets are tender. Serve in the bags.
