Steak & onions with celeriac mash

Method

  1. Simmer the celeriac in water for about 15 minutes or until it is tender. Drain and mash with milk and lots of seasoning. n Put a little oil in a hot frying pan and add the steaks, add the onion around the edges and cook for 2 minutes.
  2. Turn the steaks over and stir the onions around. After 2 minutes add the red wine and brown sugar and bubble everything together to make a sauce. Season well and serve with the mash.

    Not keen on this. Partly because of inferior quality steak, but didn't like the celeriac mash. It needed far more seasoning than most health conscious people would be happy using. Disappointing, and I am not easily disappointed.
