Baked gammon with spiced oranges
A fantastic Sunday lunch centrepiece

Ready in 3 hours 20 mins- Put the syrup, sugar and the juice from 2 of the oranges in a pan. Slowly bring to the boil, then leave to cool.
- Decorate the ham by scoring the fat with a knife to make large diamond shapes. Cut the 2 remaining oranges into slices and lay over the ham, pinning in place with the cloves.
- Brush the ham all over with the sugar mixture then put it on a trivet in a roasting tray. Pour 1 litre of water into the tray and cover with foil. Bake the ham for 2 hours 20 minutes, remove from the oven and take off the foil. Cook for a further 40 minutes until well coloured.
