Really great twist on a macaroni cheese! The mustard addition is fab - was much easier to make the sauce. Of course I added some bacon to the mix, but at least I had my veg too ;)

Loved this! Added half an onion and 2 cloves of garlic, fried them and added them in the cheese mix at the same as the brocolli. Also added some green beans too. Brilliant!

simple and tasty!

This was a really tasty dish. I used English mustard and cheated by using white sauce granules, which is something I have never used before and it worked out really well. Will do this dish again.

Found it a little too mustardy so would reduce to a teaspoon next time. I added green chilli and garlic plus some Parmesan. Very tasty dish and would make again.

I love the simplicity of this recipe. It's the second time I've made it, and this time it was at the particular request of my 4 year old!

Made this for lunch today with slightly less pasta and more broccoli, it was tasty! Really good value for money as well (useful when you're on a student budget) and still came out well despite my epically cheap ingredients - gotta love tesco value grated cheese...Was really easy to make, i made and ate it in my 1 hour break from lectures. All in all a win!

5 Star meal all the way, I replaced the brocolli with a mixed cauliflower selection and topped it with cheese and breadcrumbs which gave the top a really crisp and crumbly coating. Served it with some green beans and peas on the side which helped give little bursts of sweetness and added to the veg count, the bowl was literally licked clean!!

Instead of the butter, I used olive oil, which is healthier.

For a "meat" option you can add tuna obviously.

And to make life easier (to skip grating all that cheese) I just used singles. Of course, one has to eye-ball everything in this case but it's not that bad.

Finally, I used classic Dijon mustard instead of a regular one and quite a bit of it too, which really made the difference.

It just filled the spot quite nicely, and was v.quick and easy to make (I'm certain I added WAY more cheese though!)

Straight forward to make and very tasty

Pretty tasty, I would prefer a greater sauce to pasta ratio though. And it's not really a bake...

Like Tilly, I used the Delia one step white sauce method, putting the butter, flour and milk cold into the pan, and then whisking as it cooks for six minutes.

Also I added some dolcelatte to the top with the grated cheese before grilling, and I think this gave it that extra something. And used wholemeal pasta which made it feel a bit healthier, and gave it a slightly rougher texture.

All in all, turned out a lot better than I'd imagined when I saw the recipe.
