This was delicious!! Used fillet steak as got to the butchers at closing time and he gave it me for the same price as sirloin. The other half had one complaint - can we have it with more broccoli!! Served with plain boiled rice - perfect. Will def def def have again.

Great recipe - personally, when I cook this again I will use less ginger and perhaps just 1 lime as it was a little too 'zingy' for my taste.

This was tasty and easy to make but I couldn't get over how unhealthy it was fying the beef in so much fat - not a dinner to have too frequently. I used two tbsp of sugar as other people had commented on and as I didn't have a lime used lemon juice. I also used pickled ginger which worked really well.

Brilliant Dish. I adapted a little to make it more saucy. Fried the ginger, garlic & red chilli in a seperate pan, added 6 soy sauce, 5 sugars a dash of rice vinegar and simmered for a while than thickened with cornflour to make it more sticky and added lime near the end. YUM!! Has been added to the permanent recipe file.

I found this way too zingy for my liking. Too much lime perhaps. Beef was nice in the flour.

This was AWFUL! I followed the recipe to the letter & the result was a spicy mess that ended up in the bin! My partner & I could only manage three spoonfuls (followed by LOTS of water!). Too much chilli, too much lime, too much hassle slicing the beef into tiny strips! What a waste of a perfectly good steak!

Fantastic recipe! Followed the advice here about using just 1 lime and reducing the sugar and it worked brilliantly. Family liked it so much that we're having it again - 2nd time in a week!

Sauce is deliciously rich but my beef was a bit tough. Is the key making the beef strips super-thin?

I have made this dish a few times now and every time it is lovely, one thing i did change was the amount of ginger, i roughly halfed that amount as i found it became overpowering the more you ate when using the recomended amount. This is now a firm favourite of mine and will be serving this meal for a long time!

I made this last night, absolutely loved it. Used a lot less oil as in the recipe, beef still gets the nice crunch. Half the amount of sugar, 1 lime and 2 fresh chillies. Served with basmati rice, this is going to be a firm favourite!

OMG! Why go for takeaway Chinese when you can cook something so simple yet so delicious! Only fault 2 x limes is a bit excessive reduce the lime down to 1 and this would be perfect. I served this with egg noodles.
