Really excellent - although I agree that half the sugar was just enough for us.

WOW - this is suchh a tasty recipe. I really recommend anyone to try this. It did take me longer than 20 minutes to cook tho as I had to cook my beef in batches. I will definately be making this again, it is delicious. I made egg fried to go with it and it was perfect. So much tastier and fresher than the local chinese take-away.

just made this and it was FAB!!!! as others said i used 4-5 tsps of sugar and only 1 lime. I didn't have any garlic or fresh ginger so used some ground ginger instead. Only negative comment from OH was to ak if the outside of the beef could be crispier next time. this will definatly get made again

This was flippin' lovely! Wanted something quick to make before seeing England flop against USA and wasn't disappointed (by the team or the recipe!) Used 5 tsp of brown sugar and 1 lime and flip me if it wasn't perfect. My fave recipe so far. Get in!

The beef tasted really good at first but because it is deep fried we started feeling a bit sick about half way through and couldn't finish it. Next time I would stir fry the beef and maybe add another veg.

Absolutely gorgeous! I used 4 small limes and 4 tbsps of the sugar, and didn't add broccoli. Would definately make it again but next time fry some thin strips of carrot with the garlic, ginger, and chilli and try 2 tbsp of light soy with 2 tbsp dark soy as think the dark soy used made it slightly more salty than I'd prefer. Can't wait to make it for friends!!

Used hot sweet chilli sauce instead of chilli flakes and used only 3 tbsps of sugar so it wasn't too sweet, delicious. Enjoyed by all!

Excellent recipe. Beef was so tender. I added some carrot and green beans so it was more like a stir fry. Only used 2 tbsps of sugar which was plenty and lemon juice instead of lime. Would highly recommend.

Delicious! Added some red peppers for colour and reduced the sugar by less than a half. I think it would be better of the beef was marinated or some seasoning was added to the cornflour to give it extra flavour.

I made this last night, served it with some home made egg fried rice. My flat-mate couldn't believe it wasn't a takeaway! I followed the suggestions and used less sugar, only 3tbsp, it was still quite sweet but it cut through the chilli nicely. Will definately be making this again!!
