One of the best brownies recipes I have tried; it's usually gone within one day in our house! Must admit though, I'd never serve this with 'lots of fresh fruit' as the recipe suggests. If you're going to be wicked, you may as well do it properly!

This is really really delicious, I honestly cannot begin to describe how good it is, I have made it about 10 times now and it comes out perfectly every time, everyone loves it and I have had to pass the recipe on again and again. It is also so easy to make that I make it with my 3 year old son !

Oh my god, these are soooooo lovely, we have them with thick double cream, ice cream or just on their own. They are gorgeous. I've even made them as the pud for a dinner party and they went down a treat.

This is a delicious cake and really easy to make. I made it with Tesco's 72% dark chocolate (found in the baking aisle as opposed to the confectionary aisle) however next time I think I would go for Green & Blacks 70% (or similar) as the Tesco stuff is quite sweet and, in my opinion, more like cooking chocolate which I'm not so keen on. The cake is lovely re-heated too, just put a couple of slices back in the oven for 8-10 mins or so and it goes all gooey again....yum. Delicious served with either vanilla ice cream or creme fraiche.

Have cooked this once following the recipe exactly and it was gorgeous and then once trying to replace the dark (plain) chocolate with milk chocolate. Be very careful because milk chocolate binds quite quickly over heat alongside the sugar and syrup. Also don't be tempted to add white chocolate chunks like I did. It ends up taking twice as long to cook and can then taste a little caramelised. Stick to the recipe because it's perfect!!!

Lovely recipe and very quick and simple to make. I was not so keen on eating them an hour after they came out of the oven. They taste much better the day after!

This is definitely one for chocoholics, it's sooo yummy! My daughters actually find it too sickly (but that means all the more for me and the hubby!!). I serve it hot with mega calorie clotted cream - I love hot and cold combo.

Thank you for adding the amount of baking powder needed for the Chocolate Brownie Cake. Will be making one for the hungry singers at a Come and Sing for Darfur event, with confidence now this has been added.

I was encouraged by all the comments so I tried out this recipe yesterday. As soon as my boyfriend took one bite he couldn't stop raving about it. He said it was the best brownie he'd ever tasted. I was pleased for my first attempt! It was pretty easy to make too. Now that brownie is gone I've been commissed to make another today...and probably the next day etc, etc! My brownie sunk a bit in the middle as others have said. It could be cos I opened the oven door a few times. It seemed to sink after I stuck a knife in the middle (at the end of the recommended cooking time) to test if it was done. The mixture in the middle was still really liquid so I left it in another 10 mins and I think that was a good move. After cooling, it was slightly crunchy on the outside and a perfect texture inside (not too hard, or soft). I dusted some cocoa on the top to disguise the slight sinkage and it looked and tasted perfect. You must make this!

this was gorgeous. i'd recommend that you resist eating until it has completely cooled, and if you can, wait until the day after before you tuck in because it tastes SOOOO much better!

This was very quick, easy and tasty-made it for pudding for my son and his friend. Thought I'd taken it out of the oven too quickly as the middle was gooey but it firmed up once cool. My son's friend said not to make it properly as he liked the goo!!

I made this as a birthday cake for a friend in August, went down a storm. Since then I've made it about 4 times and always to fantastic accolades. Really easy to make and even easier to eat with lashings of extra thick double cream!
