  I make a version of this from Good Food about 7 years ago. Its basically the same but you sprinkle some grated cheese over the base before putting the onions on and you don't bother with the olives. It is a HUGE sucess and I have made it time and time again for all my veggie friends.

  This is a tasty recipe but be patient with the onions. Also I found if you're not careful the base could be a little soggy, I bake the pastry blind for a couple of minutes before adding the topping and serve with a salad to stop it being too greasy. Its worth making extra for the pickle.

  always a winning combination - delicious and very easy to make. Left overs are perfect for lunch the next day - but prepare to take extra so that everyone else at work can have a taste!

  I have to make double quantities every time as everyone loves this so much! The olives don't add a huge amount to it so don't worry if you haven't got any. It's still worth doing!

  simply lovely! i added some red wine vinegar too for some extra zing! also, no olives, but i don't like them anyway. served with rocket and spinach salad and some sweet potato wedges - DELIGHTFUL!

  I really liked this, the onions were delicious, I love olives but the reviewer who said that they didn't add much was right. I will definitely make this again but will try it with some stronger tasting olives than I used this time.

  Made this as a starter for friends coming round last weekend and it was delicious. I cooked the onions for slightly longer than the recipe said as I didn't think they looked soft enough after the initial 10 minutes. Next time I think I would make them as individual tarts and serve with a little bit of fresh rocket on the side. Also did not add the olives - don't think the recipe needs it.

  Lovely, tasty recipe, I omitted the olives and substituted the feta with goats cheese - lovely alternative, popular with everyone, will definitly make again!

  So simple yet so delicious and it looks very attractive when served with a salad. My girlfriend, who loves feta cheese, was very impressed. Went down well with a glass of sauvignon blanc

  Absolutely fantastic recipe, and so easy to make. I used almost double the amount of caramelised onions for the tart as 2 onions didn't go far enough with the pastry. Also used fewer olives. As other people have said, perfect with a salad on the side--provides colour and crunch contrast next to the tart. Definitely committing this to memory and adding it to my repertoire!

  A big disappointment. As the feta doesn't melt, it hardens, the ingredients didn't stick to the tart base, and so they fell off when the tart was was cut. I had even spread a thin layer of sundried tom paste to get them to stick, but obviously not enough. I was also disappointed by the taste, too sugary and the feta doesn't take that away unless you use loads. I will use a strong goats cheese next time - it will break up the sugary taste, it will also melt to "stick" the ingredients to the base. I don't think I'll bother with the sugar either, all you need is the balsamic vinegar to caramalise the onions. Not one of my favourites, I prefer my own creations to this one.

  Very nice, although I found it a bit too sickly for a main meal, and I used fewer olives. Would make it again, but definitely as a starter.

  much better served warm than as a left over. If you make sure you get the onions really caremelised and sticky otherwise it's a bit dry.
