Method

  1. Grate the courgettes on the coarse side of your grater.
  2. Toss them with the olive oil, lemon or lime juice, clear honey, poppy seeds and the crushed garlic clove. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve as soon as possible (or it will get too watery), with sizzling barbecued chicken or lamb, kebabs or burgers.

Lovely. My daughter does not like courgettes at all but liked the salad. My husband finished it, so I will not have any leftovers for my lunch tomorrow. I will definitely make it again.

Sorry, but my family didn't like this at all. You were right to point out that it goes watery - it did within minutes of making and consequently looked most unappetising. We also found the honey was overpowering and made it sickly-sweet.

I have made this many times and people are always surprised at how good it is. My husband is not a fan of courgettes but loves this. Try it.

A great way of using up all my courgettes this year that went a little mad in the garden! It went down a treat with everyone!

My guests liked it, thankfully, but I wasn't impressed. It went watery very quickly, which gave it a terribly soggy texture, and the honey flavour wasn't very pleasant.

Quick and easy to make and so impressive - last minute decision to make for recent BBQ. Very tasty - never had raw courgette before - perfect with BBQ meats and fish

Quick and easy, I used sesame oil, black onion seeds and lime juice, delicious! In order to avoid what could potentially become a watery mush I left the core.

Lovely. I didn't have any poppy seeds but used sesame seeds and a few pine nuts instead. A really lovely way of using courgettes. Looking forward to trying it with poppy seeds too.
