  The minty pesto was a lovely creamy green but unfortunately this sauce was very bland. Okay for a quick mid-week meal but nothing special.

  Brilliantly quick and it tastes just like spring! I think the leftovers would be great as a cold salad for work the next day - not that we had any left!

  A strange recipe, had to leave out the pasta as I'm wheat intolerant to substituted a handful of nuts. I didnt have any peas in my freezer so had to make do with sweetcorn. My local waitrose was all out of Creme fraîche so I used up the semi skimmed milk. The combination of nuts milk and sweetcorn just didnt work for me I couldn't bring myself to add Mint. I won't be trying this recipe again!

  @anenglishrose....you cooked nuts in a sweetcorn and milk sauce! the recipe was pasta with ham, mint and peas sauce!! I'm 100% sure you won't be cooking that anymore!!! :)))

  @anenglishrose No worries, I completely understand, my husband is celiac so not just wheat intolerant, but gluten free pasta is so common in every supermarket (and if you want even heathier versions, there are also brown rice or buckweath pasta)...also, the recipe is all about peas, which in springtime are at the best, so please do not omit them...finally Pecorino cheese is very important as gives the saltiness, if you do not have it, use parmesan and/or plenty of salt and black pepper to avoid a bland result! ham is the option, I think, but smoked salmon would be a nice alternative!

  don't usually visit this site for its comedy value so thank you english rose and fulvia for the bonus giggle! Recipe also good with the addition of asparagus (with either ham or salmon)

  Enjoyed this simple dish, added some finely chopped spring onions to the sauce . I love this site but it would be very helpful if herbs were expressed in grams, I grow my own and can only assume that a bunch is a shop quantity.

  Tried this tonight - I had everything in the cupboard & fridge. Just made one portion - very easy to scale down. Quick & tasty - I added a goodngring of black pepper and a squeeze of lemon juice as I dished up. Good tasty, quick & easy store cupboard meal, with or without the ham.
