  Didn't think there was enough topping for the amount of plums - overall disappointing result. Better to make a regular crumble topping and then add the almonds to it instead

  Really great pudding. I put some stem ginger in with the plums and if I have no maple syrup in I add some stem ginger syrup instead. Really nice served with creme fraiche, icecream or custard!

  this was really delicious, we had lots of plums in the house so i made it very deep. the maple syrup, plums and almonds work really well together.

  I wonder if I did something wrong, as I really wasn't impressed with this. I used half the quantity of topping specified but there was still far too much crumble for the amount of fruit, and, although it tasted nice enough, it was very dry. I might try again with a mixture of plums and apples, to get a bit more moisture into it.

  We had some plums given to us by a neighbour, so I thought I would use them in this recipe. Really quick and easy and a good result.

  I didn't use oats as the family voted against - and made ordinary crumble instead - this is a fab recipe and I'll be using it again. The kids and grown-ups loved it - it's great with custard.

  Sunday lunch dessert - a bit too little crumble topping. May try omitting flour next time and using just oats. Roasted plums in advance and added crumble topping just before cooking again. Served with vanilla ice cream. Yummy!

  Really delicious and very simple to make. Having read previous comments I double the quantity of crumble topping which was perfect, the recommended amount would not have been enough.

  A total success for the family Sunday lunch dessert. Doubled the quantity crumble topping as suggested. Used a combination of equal amounts plain flour, wholemeal flour and a little jumbo oats. Omitted the flaked almonds due to young children dining.
