  This is wonderful - I made it to use up apples months ago but it keeps for forever and everybody who's had some raves about it. Really good in ham and cheese sandwiches!

  Excellent: not too sweet or has that vinegary taste that can spoil the taste of the vegetables, it converted my neighbour who does not like chutney!!!!

  A great recipe! I only had half a red pepper, & added a courgette & some chillies to give it a kick. First impressions straight from the hot pan are really fab!

  I made this in September and had my first taste last week. It is so good I cant believe that I made it. IT tastes like something you owuld get in an exclusive farm shop. I am very impressed. the only change I made to the recipe was to simmer it for longer until it was at the right consistency, but I imagine that is due to my hob rather than anything else. This recipe has beeen stolen and I will never use another!!

  I thought this was terrific - very easy (although peeling/coring the vegetables takes a long time!) and very satisfying! It tastes lovely and I've only been able to taste it straight from the pot - I can't wait to find out what it tastes like when it's a couple of months old. Fabulous.

  Just made my second batch, reduced the sugar and added a chilli to spice it up a bit. The first batch was delicious, I just wanted to experiment a little with the second. Having just taken on an allotment, I now know what to do with all the tomatoes !

  This recipe won me first prize in the chutney class of my village show! Really easy, lovely flavour. I halved the apple and chucked in a handful of tomberries which were lying in my fridge and they gave it a lovely bright red sparkle. Gorgeous with ham and mature cheddar. A winner - I'll be making it one of my regulars!

  This recipe definitely lives up to the hype in the comments section. I made just one slight variation: I used malt vinegar instead of cider vinegar. Nevertheless I still loved the taste (not too sweet or overpowering), and my friends loved it too!
