  • 2 tbsp whole oats
  • 2 tbsp low-fat natural yogurt
  • some blueberries

Method

  1. Grate 1 small apple and mix with 2 tbsp whole oats and 2 tbsp low-fat natural yogurt. Layer in a pot with some blueberries.

I had this for breakfast and really liked it, but this portion size is definitely for a snack rather than breakfast - would need to double it to keep you going all morning.

I topped this recipe with raisins soaked overnight in orange juice instead of blueberries. also added a pinch of cinnamon, I ate the full recipe for breakfast and it tasted lovely and although it didn't look like a huge amount of food (compared to my usual heaving full bowl of cooked porridge) it was very filling. Might add some chopped almonds or toasted seeds for some crunch on top next time.

Are whole oats the same as porridge oats?

Not exactly. They are similar not exactly the same but I always use porridge oats instead and it works fine!
