  • 350g caster sugar
  • 100g plain flour
  • 50g cocoa powder
  • 100g dark chocolate orange, chopped


  1. Heat oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4 and line a 24 x 20cm brownie tin with baking parchment. Put the butter, dark chocolate and orange zest in a non-stick saucepan and very gently melt over a low heat, stirring every now and then, until smooth – take care not to overheat it. Cool.

  2. Whisk the eggs and sugar together with an electric whisk until the mixture is pale, has doubled in volume and leaves a trail when the beaters are lifted. Gently stir into the cooled chocolate mixture. Sift over the flour and cocoa, stir in, then add the orange chocolate.

  3. Pour into the lined tin and bake for 35-40 mins. Cool in the tin, then cut into squares.

Oh my goodness, these Brownies are A.MAZ.ING! How could anyone not fall in love with these? I found that 35 minutes was a tiny bit too long for them, they weren't quite as gooey as I like.

Served as a dessert with creme fraiche and orange segments Resep masakan. The brownies were moist and gooey in the centre and crunchy on top with a subtle orange tang and sumptuous chunks of bittersweet, semi-melted chocolate. Jasa Halaman 1 Google Heaven!!

First time I've ever made brownies and this simple recipe delivered. Great texture and flavour. I found 35 mins was enough, maybe even slightly too long. Depends on your oven though I suppose.

This recipe is super scrummy! I did the recipe plus a quarter to make extra and I also used 4 teaspoons of orange extract instead of orange zest and orange chocolate. It worked very well and the flavour was delicious. I found after 40 minutes (recommended time) the mixture was still runny in the middle but you must take it out as it carries on cooking once out! Enjoy! They're addictive!

WAOW what a treat!
Never in my 32 years of baking brownies have I been so lucky as to find a recipe like this. As the song goes from chitty chitty bang bang, they are "truly scrumptious!!!!!"
As a master of brownie baking I've tasted and tried manys-a brownies but boys-a-dear, these little treats are top of the scale!-they'd give even Mary Berry a run for her money!! From their crispy top coat to their gorgeously gooey inside these little babes will go down a treat at any occasion!

So folks, if you need the perfect recipe for a brownie, take it from this brownie baking babe that you don't need to look much further from here!!

Ladies, gentlemen, girls and boys...before you make these delicious brownies I want you to know one thing and one thing only...they are breathtakingly gorgeous. To give you an idea of just how wonderful they really are, I took one nibble and I immediately fell to the ground because I was so overwhelmed. (My hubby Sam had to rescue me!) A little tip for all you chocoholics out there (you're not the only one!) add a few naughty extra orange chocolate chunks to your mixture and you will thank me later! Id like to end with a quote that a think all brownie babes and goodfood users would appreciate...
"A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands" ;)

WARNING: You will find them hard to resist!!
I made these using ordinary Terry's choc orange as opposed to dark choc. They were incredibly fudgy and just right for me. I did manage to freeze some (I must of had some willpower that day!) and when thawed they tasted just as good with the same fudgy texture I didn't even bother warming them up just gobbled up from the foil!

I had a problem with these: I've never attempted brownies before but I expected them to be a bit cake-like, but even after I'd left them in the oven for almost an hour (20 minutes longer than the recipe specified) the mixture was still 'liquid'. I assumed I'd screwed it up in some way, and left it with the intent of throwing it in the bin.

I later realised that's sort of the point, so if you're doing these and find yourself with a wet/gooey bit in the middle, that's how it's meant to be! They set as they cool, don't panic.

These are seriously delicious . I'm not a great fan of sweet chocolate things and made them really for my son and his girlfriend but I just couldn't resist trying one as the smell of chocolate and orange made them too hard to resist. I think best eaten still warm from the oven.

This recipe is absolutely phenomenal! I only used three eggs because I ran out and that made it slightly crumbly but absolutely delicious with some single cream smothered on top :) will be making these next week for my work mates (with four eggs this time!)

Just made these using dark chocolate for melting and chopped milk chocolate orange. Husband already eaten two and will probably have another couple when I take them to my mother's for tea.

Avoid the mess of heating chocolate and butter over boiling water. A couple of minutes on fairly high in the microwave until just melted is much easier and less likely to overheat or separate.

Agree with comment below that 35 mins is plenty long enough in the oven.

I highly recommend trying this recipe. Before doing this, I'd never made brownies in my life. I followed the recipe to the T, and the result is so yummy! The brownies were gone in 2 days, and now my boyfriend keeps supplying me with more chocolate in hopes I make this again :D

I made these a few days ago for my boyfriend and I, they were delicious and had a really good texture - not dry and crumbly but not too sloppy either. I used Terry's chocolate orange instead, although cutting it up into neat chunks was tricky, which I then put into the freezer for 10 mins to stop them melting into the mixture. I also used 250g caster sugar instead, which didn't seem to alter the texture or taste, and might consider using even less sugar next time - there will definitely be a next time, although we ate all of them within 3 days, so maybe not for awhile!

Just amazing - the perfect mix of fudgy and crisp top, and incredible served warm with vanilla ice cream! I use a dark choc with crystallised orange peel instead of the dark chocolate orange, and I love the texture contrast it gives. I don't think I'll ever use another brownie recipe again!

These brownies turned out great. The orange flavour came through really nicely and wasn't over powering and the brownies had a lovely gooey centre. Very easy to bake too. Will be making again :)

These brownies are really delicious. We did add 3/4tsp of orange extract and used milk choc orange as this was all I had. Cooked them for 35 mins. perfect, gooey in the middle and crunchy on top. Will def make again.

This is a fantastically rich and gooey brownie which I can highly recommend making. The recipe is simple to follow and just to enhance the orange flavour, I added the juice of an orange to the chocolate mixture once it had cooled. Also, in the final stages a added a handful of mixed chopped nuts which I think worked really well.

Absolutely delicious! Used milk chocolate orange instead of dark and used half the amount of cocoa powder the second time I made them which I thought made them taste better. Went down a treat at home and at work - have had several requests to make them again.
