  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast
  • 25g garlic butter, softened

Part of the lily, or alium, family, of which onions are also a member, garlic is one of the most…

  • 25g crispy breadcrumbs

  1. Place the chicken on a baking tray, rub with a little of the butter, season and cook under the grill for 15 mins, turning once until cooked through.

  2. Mix together the remaining garlic butter and breadcrumbs. Remove the chicken from the grill and top each breast with a smear of the breadcrumbed butter. Return to the grill and cook 3-5 mins until the breadcrumbs are golden and the butter melted. Serve any buttery juices, alongside new potatoes and peas or broad beans.

Really easy, tasty mid week meal. Took advice from previous comments and added parmesan to the breadcumbs which was yummy. Served with herby new potatoes and a green salad.

Lovely, very tasty and really easy to do. I added Parmesan to the garlic butter and breadcrumbs, also I flattened my chicken breasts a bit for quicker cooking time. Served with salad and potatoe salad, yummy!

Husband loved it and pretty easy to cook. Make sure to tip all the garlicky chicken juice from the tray back onto the chicken once served as it would be a waste not to. Served with sweet potato chips and salad

Very nice and easy too. Me and my 10 year old loved it. All the flavour of a Kiev without being too unhealthy. Served with sweet potato wedges and petit pois, was yummy.

Really tasty! Will definitely become a regular! I put goats cheese under the breadcrumbs - tasty!

Swiftly becoming a Friday night regular, served with some homemade potato wedges. Halved the ingredients (only 2 of us), but garlic butter needs 2 cloves to make it work best

Always comes out perfect. I do not slice chicken breast in half - just flatten with rolling pin. Good with minted new potatoes and roasted veg.

Chicken was really moist and it's really satisfying and tasty considering it's a lower fat recipe.

Made it for the family this evening, we all loved it, even my fussy 3 year old daughter!! Served it with peas, sweet corn and broccoli and garlic potatoes - beautiful and so easy. My son scored it 9 out of 10!

Cracking recipe and a no brainer as far as ease of prep is concerned. I normally add extra garlic as a matter of course and am glad I did here. Served with homemade chips and baked beans, as suggested elsewhere, which really worked really well.

A comfy 5 stars as far as Im concerned.

This is great - so easy and full of flavour. I usually oven cook the chicken for 15 mins then put the butter/breadcrumb mix on for the last 5 mins or so. I toast the breadcrumbs in a dry frying pan to make them crispy.

Really nice and very simple.

Very tasty but the texture of the bread crumbs was a little too flakey. Might have to base the chicken with some egg yolk next time. Easy to prepare though.

Very tasty and a good healthy alternative to a normal chicken kiev. I halved the ingredients for two people. I did the chicken fillet plain for 5 minutes in the George Foreman grill then finished it off with the topping under the grill for 3 minutes.

The butter along with a large clove of garlic plus some bread all went into the Kenwood mini chopper and pulse until the right texture so was very easy indeed.

I served it with jacket potatoes, broccoli, broad beans and petit pois. The flavours worked well but without any sauce the potato was a little dry so needs a dollop of low fat creme fraiche or some kind of healthy sauce to top.

used 2 cloves of garlic cut into small chunks and mixed into 2 tablespoons of melted butter, with golden breadcrumbs. Was delicious, and the chicken stayed really moist. Would defenitely cook it again, though both me and my wife love garlic so that could be why.

Really quick and easy to make. I made it with homemade oven fries and it was very tasty. A great alternative to conventional chicken kievs.

My husband loves chicken kiev but I try to avoid it as the pre-prepared versions you can buy are so unhealthy. I tried this as an alternative one night and although it was nice garlic-y chicken, there was nothing kiev-like about it and it failed to pass the husband test. Not sure I would make again.

This is a brilliant dish im 10 and i made this for my dad it tasted amazing loved it very easy to cook but maybe a bit of seasoning might of made it exceptional.

made our own garlic butter, and added one red chilli and some grated parmasan to the bread crumbs for more flavour, cooked in the oven not the grill, because easier as served it with chips. All in all a good recipe very tasty but prefer normal style kievs!

Made this for tea last night using quorn fillets as we are vegetarian. Used Olive spread instead of butter and did use extra brown bread crumbs. It tasted great, I scored the top of the quorn fillets to allow the garlic butter to sink in during cooking topped it with the garlic breadcrumbs then I popped them in the oven for 20 mins.
