Method

  1. Heat oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4. Line 2-3 baking sheets with baking parchment. Put the butter and sugar in a food processor and whizz until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla, and mix well. Sift together the flour and custard powder, then tip into the bowl and pulse to mix into a dough. Scrape out the food processor and work the chocolate in by hand.
  2. Roll the dough into balls a little smaller than a walnut, then place on the baking sheets, a little apart to allow for spreading. Press each biscuit down lightly with your fingers.
  3. Bake for 12-15 mins until lightly golden. Remove and cool on a wire rack.

Lovely biscuits, so easy to make, made it exactly as suggested in the recipe and they came out of the oven as in the picture. I don't think I will ever be able to test the fact they will keep for 2 weeks. Took them to work and everyone loved them.

Easy to make, used an electric whisk as don't have a food processor. Nice custardy flavour comes through. Will try with milk chocolate next time as they were extremely sweet because of the white chocolate.

Amazingly easy to make, came out exactly like the picture, tasted delicious and kept well. My only tiny quibble was that they were a little too sweet for my taste but my husband loved them.

Lovely biscuits, very light and crunchy. Couldn't taste the custard very much, though, will make again and increase amount of custard powder slightly. Agree with Gerda - no chance of testing if they really will keep for 2 weeks, mine didn't even last one!

Delicious and easy to make. I love custard cream biscuits and I love white chocolate so these were perfect for me, although I know some would find them sweet due to the white chocolate. Very moreish and desperately trying to ignore that they are in the cupboard...! Would definitely make again.

WOWSERRR yummy scrummy... i made these earlier to take to work as a taster for a confrence that im catering for... (this being part of the tea/coffe morning) and they didnt even get in to the tuppawear box! yes all 25 of them lol... so have had to bake a 2nd batch. Looked exactly as they do on the picture. Would highly reccomend ps: just use very small balls of dough as they do spread a lot, so dont over crowd on the tray.

Yummy biscuits that only lasted 2 days in my house, I am sure these will be made many times as they were so easy to do and tasted great (I made by hand as I didn't have a food processor to hand). I agree that they were quite sweet so next time I might try mixing white and dark choc chips. If you aren't sure what size to make the biscuit balls I made mine about 30g of raw mix each which seemed to work well and made 24 biscuits.

These biscuits were a big hit in my office. I cannot say I've ever really made biscuits before as I'm more of a savoury food cook, but these were very easy to make and came out very well. Will definitely make again.

Just wondering if these could freeze? Have been asked to make some cakes/biscuits for a fundraiser but am on holiday. Could make them before I leave if they can freeze.

These were very easy to make (although my dough was quite sticky so I just mixed the chocolate in with a spoon) and taste quite nice, a bit boring maybe, but a great snack. I somehow managed to get nearly 50 biscuits, but I'm sure they'll be eaten soon enough! :)
