  It's a good recipe, but for a real key lime pie you have to have key limes, which are different than regular limes. We live in Florida, where we have plenty of both kinds, and they are not the same.

  agree with commenter above - but you ain't gonna find key limes too easily in England! While we are drifting from the authentic recipe - how about plain chocolate biscuoit crumb for the crust (ie the biscuoit part of an Oreo). Marvellous!

  I live in Toronto, and fresh key limes aren't always easy to get here either. Bottled good quality key lime juice is a good substitute - bet you can find that somewhere in the U.K. Love the web site!

  I made it as the recipe states as I live in the UAE and regular limes are all that's available. Everybody really enjoyed it when I brought it out at the end of our BBQ. And such an easy recipe to follow.

  who cares if it's key limes or lines? IT'S DELICIOUS! I recommend this to anyone. I didnt bother will all that cream on top just servced the pie in slices with a little single cream - everyone loved it. Make it!

  Have had Key Lime pie in the US, in a variety of US states, and even if this isn't with key limes, it still beats some of the pies I have had over there. I like the idea of a Oreo base but I felt Hob Nobs worked well (make sure you really batter them down and I had to use extra melted butter). This recipe makes more than it appears - can get 12 slices (it is rich and you don't need too big a slice), but it didn't last long anyway and have now converted some more Scots to Key Lime pie. This is a great pie and fabulous for entertaining.

  Fantastic flavour. I agree the base was possibly a bit too thick but sill loved it. I skipped the cream on top so it would last better in the fridge and just served with a bit of double cream in a jug

  I must admit I made this with some trepidation, as it seemed terribly sweet, but I must say it was absolutely delicious, not too sweet at all. Will definitely do this again - as with others I did not add the cream on top, just passed some single cream around - it went down a treat, even my husband who does not eat sweets had some and has said he would love to have it again,

  This was a huge hit with my family. I had to make a few changes but it was still excellent! We live in Vermont & Hob Nobs are not always available, so I made a pre-baked sweet pastry shell. Also, we could only get regular limes, so I used those and as I'm a Brit my husband thought it was appropriate to re-name it "Limey Pie"!

  I loved this, but really only dared eat a sliver as it has such a high calorie count and amount of saturated fat per eighth of this dessert :(
