Method

  1. Heat oven to 230C/fan 210C/gas 8. In a large bowl toss the potatoes, onion, liquid and oil together. Season if you like. Tip the onion and potatoes into a large sauté pan and bake for 20-30 mins until the potatoes start to brown. Lay the chops on the potatoes and cook for 10 mins more.
  2. While the potatoes are cooking, mix the cheese, mustard and milk together. When the chops have had 10 mins, spread the cheese mixture over them and switch the oven over to grill. Place the pan under the grill and cook for about 5 mins until the cheese is bubbling and the potatoes are golden and crispy. Serve straight from the pan.

The pork chops were tender and moist. Enjoyed by the whole family and my son who doesnt usually like pork chops really loved this meal and has asked for them again. Very easy to cook and very tasty.

Sorry but did not like this at all. Not sure what went wrong but i cooked the potatoes as told, in fact 5 minutes longer, and continued with the recipe. When cooked the potatoes were raw and the pork was pale and not tasty. I love all the ingredients so was really looking forward to it!! I cook bloody harder meals than this and cant see what went wrong? Maybe ill try again another time.

Just made this for lunch but I used filleted chicken breasts instead of pork and it was lovely. Will try the pork another day!

The family really enjoyed this dish - very easy to make and minimal washing up - always a bonus.

I added some chunks of carrot with the potato and onion, really tasty and added a bit of colour to the dish.

This was really tasty, extremely easy and I'll definately do them again. Also good for a one pot meal for a student by using smaller quantities.

Didn't finish in the grill just returned to the oven, fabulous result though :-)

Easy & Yummy! The onions were a little overcooked and blackened by putting them for as long as the potatoes, but that is easily rectified. I will definitely make again!

This was really tasty and easy to make. The mustard gave it a nice kick. I didnt do mine in the oven, i cooked the pork chops under the grill then put them on the hob with the spuds and just finished it all off back under the grill. It was much quicker!

This is a simple easy dish to make and makes pork chops or pork steaks more interesting. Try it, it's tasty.

This is one of the easiest recipes I have made. Although recommended for students I often make if for my family in the evening. Added bonus of not much washing up!! Worth a try!
