Method

  1. Heat oven to 230C/fan 210C/gas 8. In a large bowl toss the potatoes, onion, liquid and oil together. Season if you like. Tip the onion and potatoes into a large sauté pan and bake for 20-30 mins until the potatoes start to brown. Lay the chops on the potatoes and cook for 10 mins more.

  2. While the potatoes are cooking, mix the cheese, mustard and milk together. When the chops have had 10 mins, spread the cheese mixture over them and switch the oven over to grill. Place the pan under the grill and cook for about 5 mins until the cheese is bubbling and the potatoes are golden and crispy. Serve straight from the pan.

great tasty dish and easy to do. Love the fact that everything is in the one pan, less washing. Have past the recipe to those who have tasted it.

Delicious. I used leeks instead of onions, and used about a cup of stock to start with.

This is a really tasty meal. I added carrots, and also more stock to make a thin sauce. Simple and warming.

Really tasty, easy dish. I think that the people that haven't enjoyed it either haven't cooked it properly, or it isn't to their taste - and that's not a reason to rate it so low!!

If you don't like the taste of a recipe then of course it is a reason to rate it low.

Agree with Amie and Eimss! Will not be making again. This is yet the only item I've made from this web site that I've disliked.

This took ages longer than stated to cook. the potatoes were still a bit undercooked. The kids hated the mustardy taste! I followed the instructions exactly so not sure what went wrong with timings. Potatoes were thinly sliced! Won't be making again.

Delicious and really easy. Used pork steaks, and leeks instead of onions as had them in the fridge. I cooked the potatoes for 35 minutes before adding the pork. Also put back into the oven rather than grill, which made a really nice sauce. Will definitely do it again.

Just made this for lunch but i added chopped clove garlic to the potatoes when roasting, as suggested only added the onion halfway through the cooking of the potatoes. I added some cream to the milk and added more cheese and extra mustard to the mix and was really lovely..i fried the pork chops in the pan for a few mins on either side before adding them to the potato dish..Def you would need hot oven temp as suggested..was very nice dish and will definetly be cooking it again soon...Well worth trying this recipe....
