  Fabulous cake - I've made it twice already!!! The only marmalade cake that really tastes of marmalade!!

  For the main part I followed the recipe. However, I didn't have white wine vinegar so I added red wine vinegar instead, which worked just as well. If you are short of preparation time and would like to rustle up a delicious cake this is one to try.

  Super cake, I used the lemon marmalade that I made last month. Found the recipe easy to follow and the finished cake was yummy. Have had requests for another one!

  I forgot to add the wine vinegar and my finished cake was a bit crumbly, I wonder if that was why...? I wondered whether a couple of eggs would help though.

  I made this yesterday, with a few adjustments. I took note of the comment that it was crumbly and added an egg and reduced the milk to 65 mls. I used Lime Marmalade, with the zest of 1 lime and 1/2 lemon, which was very yummy. I also changed the method by putting all the dry ingredients, including the zests and the 2 tbs marmalade in the processor along with 100g butter (because of the egg) and mixed that together, then added the dried fruit to that (sultanas, cherries and peel in this case) I then whipped the egg with the milk and vinegar and combined that in a bowl with the dry ingredients. It took about an hour and 5 minutes to bake. We had some workment in who practically fought over it! Will most certainly make this again.

  made this yesterday in a matter of minutes although i forgot to add white wine vinegar. marmalade used was a homemade orange and whiskey marmalade and it tastes divine. only problem is its so nice....

  Yum! Made mine with lemon marmalade. Didn't forget the white wine vinegar and added a pinch of baking powder. Perfect!

  This is a wondeful recipe inspite of the fact I put all the marmalade into the mixture it turned out beautiful. I will try it again and see how it should be and which I prefer. I didnt put the icing on top as it was quite fragile and I felt it may collapse. I also put in lemon marmalade homemade from the bbc recipes.

  I made this cake using a jar of orange and ginger marmalade that I'd had in the cupboard for ages and I think the ginger gave it a really nice edge. I would cook for a little longer next time as the very middle of the cake was a bit underdone even though my skewer came out clean. My husband who is a big marmalade fan said it was yummy : )

  I found this a bit sticky I think there is a bit too much glaze on top, as when you cut it your hands are really sticky after. Also it fell apart a bit when cutting up. Also I didnt have any white wine vinegar, Im not sure what that would have done?

  Didn't bother with the topping and used a homemade plum jam instead of marmalade. Also added a teaspoon of ground ginger to the mix. Cake was delicious and my husband had asked that I keep it in the 'to do again' binder'!!

  I made this cake exactly as the recipe suggests; it is now a firm favourite and I make it regularly. It is particularly good made with Oxford Marmalade. Love it!

  This is very similar to Delia's Marmalade Cake which I have been making for over 30 years. Hers doesn't have the glaze, only demerara sugar sprinkled on before it goes in the oven. It is foolish to leave out ingredients, even 1 teaspoon of vinegar. It is there for a purpose: because there is no egg the vinegar acts as a raising agent. I make this cake for my grandson who is allergic to eggs. The whole family loves it.

  Just made this cake and it was truely scrumptious. It is quite light and very moist and extremely more-ish. I followed the recipe exactly, except that I added an egg and found it took 1hr 25 minutes to cook in a fan oven
