Fig & goat’s cheese puffs

These impressive creamy puff pastry nibbles are perfect when you need to make canapés in a hurry

Method

  1. Heat the oven to 200C/fan 180C/gas 6. Cut small bite-sized (4cm) circles out of the pastry and put on a non-stick baking sheet. Brush with the egg then add a blob of goat's cheese and push on a piece of fig. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until puffed and golden.

    EXcellent!! I wish i had made double portions as this was completely devoured! Made this as part of a nibbles selection for a recent party and will def make again. Really easy to prep, i used store bought pastry which i cut into squares as i didn't have a cutter. It looked great when i served them and tasted absolutely gorgeous!

    I've just made these with ready rolled puff pastry, quite nice. Some of the figs fell of the top as it puffed up so I'd make a slit in the cheese next time so it's securely in. They are also flat so next time I'd score another circle inside or bake the pastry a bit on it's own first so the border puffs up better.
