Method

  1. Heat oven to 220C/200C fan/gas 7. Mix the bread dough following pack instructions, keeping it light and sticky. Knead it for a few mins, then place in a covered, oiled bowl for 30 mins to rise at room temperature.
  2. Take the dough out and squash to knock out the air. Roll out on a floured surface to fit the largest baking tray you have. Sprinkle flour or semolina over the tray, then place the dough on top. Spread the tomato sauce over the dough, then scatter with the salami, peppadews, onion, chilli flakes, mozzarella and oregano. Bake for 12-15 mins or until the dough turns crusty and golden.

Made this for tea last night and was delicious. Used a ciabatta bread mix which mad a lovely doughy on the middle / crusty on the outside base, and chorizo slices instead of salami. The peppadew peppers added a wondeful flavour kick :)

Really nice - made the pizza dough in my bread machine with another recipe but the topping was great. Instead of the pasta sauce I used some tomato puree thinned down a little with water with some chipotle paste added.

The last comment here uses chipotle paste added to her sauce. Could "Beth 24 Dec 2011" please tell me where she buys chipotle paste.

Hi Pauline, I got chipotle paste from Sainsburys but I am sure most supermarkets would stock it...

Made this last nite. Used 500g pack of Tesco white crusty bread mix. I used the packed for 2 pizzas and it was perfect- I thought it would be too thick to just make 1 pizza. Made my own pizza sauce by watering down some tomato purée and adding oregano and basil. Also added soma tobacco for an extra kick. I actually put grated mozzarella on the tomato sauce then added few slices to the top of the pizza. Cooked really really well and tasted delicious! Def make again :)
