Really nice! Very similar to something we always have on holiday in Dubai and it is really lovely, makes a real change for breakfast and super healthy. I left the oats and juice overnight in the fridge and literally popped in the microwave for 1 min to take the chill off the next morning.

I thought I'd really like this... but no. It might have been better with a dollop of thick yoghurt, but I can't work up the enthusiasm to try! Much prefer good old porridge.

I usually have normal porridge for breakfast and tried this for a change. It's really good!. Like Joanne, I left in in the fridge overnight and microwaved it briefly in the morning.

I would give 3 stars to the recipe as it is and 5 stars to it after a few tweaks - The first time I made this I followed the recipe as it is and I found that it tasted too much of apple juice and it just was not creamy enough. The second time I made it I used 250ml apple juice and the same amount of plain yogurt, I added a handful of raisins and I left the whole lot covered overnight in the fridge. I added the grated apple in the morning with a pinch of salt and it was lovely and creamy and very filling

This particular recipe doesn't sound too good, but a great Bircher is 5 star all the way. Try a couple of cups of rolled oats and a big handful each of flaked almonds, sultanas and shredded coconut. Add a single serve tub of good Greek yoghurt, a pinch of cinnamon, a grated apple (or two) and enough apple juice to bring it all together to about the texture of a loose muffin or cake batter. Cover and leave overnight. Lovely on its own or you can top it with things like sweet dukkah, more yoghurt or berry compote. This takes less than 5 mins to make, it will last for about 4 days and it only gets better.

Really nice recipe, great alternative to standard porridge, although I'm not too sure which I prefer. Also like Joanne and a couple of other I left it in the fridge overnight and heated up in the morning. I will definitely make again! :-)
