  1. Sprinkle a teaspoon cornflour onto a plate, then press the turkey steaks into the cornflour to dust them lightly. Heat the oil in a large non-stick frying pan, until it is really hot. Add the turkey and fry for 3-4 minutes, turning once until golden on both sides – cook in batches if need be. Transfer to a plate.

  2. Add the orange juice, ginger and honey to the pan. Gently bring to the boil. Mix the remaining cornflour with 1 tbsp cold water and stir into the sauce. Keep stirring on a gentle heat until thickened and syrupy, like a sweet and sour sauce. Season.

  3. Return the turkey to the pan. Add the orange and grapefruit segments and heat through gently. Scatter over chives or parsley and serve straight away with rice and broccoli.

Really disliked this. Wish I read the comments before I made it. I followed the recipe and found the grapefruit made it taste bitter.

Very tasty. Room for improvement though. Think a little stock is needed to boost the sauce. I would defiantly take the time to segment the orange to add texture. As others said I left out the grapefruit, not needed with the orange, honey and ginger too. Next time I won't worry about putting corn flour on the turkey before cooking. It went a bit soggy and you need more than listed, they fry just fine without it.

Delish! use Del Monte fruitnaturals Red Grapefruit, it's already peeled and in beautiful segments, not to mention it has a sweeter taste.

Nice, simple and tasty dish? Left out the orange and grapefruit segments as suggested and added a bit of chilli to add a kick to it.

Absolutley vile. followed the recipe to the letter. very bitter, actually added thia curry paste and yogurt to turn it into a curry.I can only assume its healthy eating because you can only manage a mouthful. lol

I've been reading all the reviews of this recipe and have decided that instead of grapefruit I may use mango. I think it might just make the difference....will let you know once I try it!

Whatever you do, don't use the grapefruit, it utterly ruins the recipe and makes it quite frankly revolting. Even reducing the the grapefuit is no good.

Tasty, healthy and quick. I left out the grapefruit and didn't bother with segments, only sauce from juice. I might try it another time with lime as suggested by one of the commenters as I can imagine that working well.

I made this for Easter lunch, and after reading the earlier comments I left out the orange and grapefruit segments, used fresh orange juice plus the juice of a lime, and used thickening granules to get the sauce to the right consistency.
It was delicious. The lime gave it a sharper edge without being bitter, and not using the fruit reduced the prep time to just a few minutes.
I'll definitely be making this again.

Agree with all the other comments about leaving out the grapefruit - too bitter. We should have read these comments 1st. The sauce did give the turkey a nice flavour when cooked in it at the end. Also went well with sprouts.

As previous commenters suggested I also left out the grapefruit, also added a bit more honey to make it stickier and sweeter. The sauce is still really quite thin but tastes lovely. Good base recipe but needs a bit of work.

This is a great recipe if you like getting the taste of a meal out of your mouth with some cheese. The oranges dominated the meal and more honey would improve things. The bitterness was not to my palette's liking so I wouldn't recommend the dish.

The grapefruit overpowered everything else I thought - next time I'll just do the orange, ginger and honey as that was tasty.

This is really surprisingly nice, very refreshing and I don't personally think it needs the additional segments. It's quite colourful as it is. Have cooked a few times now.

I did not use the fruit segments. I added two tablespoons of fine cut marmalade to the other ingredients for the sauce. The result was very tasty sauce.

Very easy and quick meal to make, was expecting it to be very sweet but it wasn't. will definately make it again.

I really liked this recipe. Honey, ginger and orange worked really well. Didn't use orange/grapefruit segments. Really tasty, will definitely make it again.
