I've done something very similar to this as a starter for posh dinner parties for a number of years - who cares that it's barely a recipe when it SO delicious! Try it on wholemeal soda bread with a roasted baby beet relish

I LOVE potted shrimps on toast. A great favourite in the North West. But where to buy them East of the pennines? Does anyone know?

Hi Mr Tom - Both Waitrose & Booths stock them, alternatively you can get your fix at www.morecambebayshrimps.com. Hope this helps!

If Jamie Oliver can put fish finger sandwiches in one of his books then i dont see anything wrong with someone showing us how to turn potted shrimps into a tasty snack. Very tasty.

sorry, but needing a recipe to show how potted shrimps could be made into a tasty snack by spreading on toast means a serious lack of imagination!! i clicked on this hoping to find out how to actually make potted shrimp. is there a proper recipe on this site somewhere?

I think this is one of the classic versions of potted shrimps, done by clarifying the butter (not all do): http://www.retrofoodrecipes.com/potted_shrimps.html
