Outstanding recipe! This is definitely not light and I would not serve this as a midweek meal, but we enjoyed it throroughly with a glass of red wine in front of a movie one Saturday.

We had this last night, and even though we didn't have any caraway seeds handy, it was still delicious. We served it with gnocchi instead of rice-really yummy. Looking forward to tonight's leftovers!

Lovely - easy to make and very tasty. Not sure if I'd bother with the caraway seeds next time as you can't taste them at all - it's just like a lovely goulash!

This was very tasty indeed. Though I agree with RecipesFF, you really can't taste the caraway seeds - not sure why they are included in the recipe. But anyway, it's really easy to do - just prepare it and then get on with something else while it slowly cooks in the oven. I would certainly make it again.

I thought this we great - made a couple of alterations, added some chilli for a kick and some tomato puree for a slightly thicker sauce. It was very tasty served with couscous and broccoli and the beer was meltingly tender. Would do this in a slow cooker in winter, make double and freeze.

The beef melts in the mouth, try smoked paprika for an intense smokey finish.

A beautiful stew - outstanding flavour and consistency, will def make again! Might try adding the caraway seeds to the frying off beef stage though to see if flavour is better captured.
