Method

  1. Heat the oven to 160C/fan 140C/gas 3. Put the ribs, fleshy side down, in a single layer in a large roasting tin. Pour over the Dr Pepper and add the spices. Tightly cover with foil and cook for 2 hours.
  2. Put all the glaze ingredients in a pan and simmer until thick and syrupy.
  3. After the initial cooking take the ribs from the oven and turn it up to 200C/fan 180C/gas 6, or light your barbecue. Drain all the liquid from the tin. Turn the ribs flesh side up and baste with the glaze. Roast for 30 minutes or barbecue, adding more glaze halfway through until sticky and shiny. Cut into sections to serve.

Loved this recipe! Easy to make, just a little lengthy, but well worth it as the meat on the ribs fall of the bone after the slow cooking process. WORD OF WARNING - This is sweet and paked full of sugar. I even added a few teaspoons of pure honey to the glaze mix, which in hindsight for some may be a step to far. Next time i would probably put a little less worcestershire sauce in. Give it a go see ehat you think!!

This was easy, and the result is really tasty. The allspice etc give a nice deep flavour. It doesn't taste very healthy though...!

Really easy to make & really tasty! In view of the warning from Jonathan (above) I used Dr Pepper zero & reduced the sugar content to 4tbsp - still worked very well. Will certainly be making again.

Made these ribs for my OH's birthday starter and he adored them! Wondering whether to try with chicken thighs, although not sure whether to just glaze them rather than kind of poach in dr pepper... would recommend!

We are big BBQ rib fans in our house and experiment a lot. But this is the best by far. Tender and amazing flavour! Cooked them under grill instead of roasting, worked well

My fiancee is a massive ribs fan and we both agree...this is the best ribs recipe we have found by far! Tender, amazingly juicy and falling off the bone - also the glaze is delicious!

Great recipe! I made it with Chicken thighs instead of ribs and they were fantastic. By the way don't be put of if the glaze tastes salty and unpleasant before you put it on the chicken, it all seems to work itself out in the oven. Can't wait to make again

Really delicious recipe! So simple to do but tastes great! Did have to thicken the sauce with cornflour to get the right consistency but i think i may have added a little too much dr. pepper. The ribs were sticky and delicious! Couldn't fault. Also, a fairly cheap meal as the ribs didn't cost that much and we had them as a friday night treat with wedges! Will definitely be making again.
