Method

  1. Heat the oil in a deep nonstick frying pan, then add the chicken breasts and scatter round the lardons. Leave to cook over a high heat for 4 minutes while you gather the other ingredients together.
  2. Turn the chicken over in the pan, give the lardons a stir, then pour in the wine and let it bubble over a high heat until it has virtually evaporated. Now add the petit pois, the cream and penne, season, then stir well. Cover the pan and cook for 4 minutes more until the chicken is cooked all the way through. Serve straight away.

Excellent and very quick. Added an onion, only had a small amount of wine so added chicken stock. Used light Philadelphia with spring onion and black pepper instead of cream. Very yummy!

Delicious. This will become a favourite in our house. I chopped the chicken into bite sized pieces and I did add fresh thyme and mushrooms, because I had them in the fridge and used creme fraiche instead of cream. Took advice from other comments and added some Parmesan and black pepper.

Made this tonight for dinner, it really was very tasty! I did make a few changes, I added some parmesan abd obviously plenty of freshly ground black pepper. This will definitely become a regular weekend recipe for me, but the next time I make it I'll add a shallot. I think that would add so much extra flavour.

Made this last night when a friend came to tea and it went down very well. Really quick and simple recipe and was very yummy. I added more wine and cream in order to make more sauce, left out the peas and added mushrooms instead. My friend enjoyed it is much that she even ate the last bit off the ladle- not the most polite of dinner table behaviour but she obviously enjoyed it.

Very tasty. I chopped the chicken, chopped smoked back bacon, chucked in about half a glass of wine to help make more sauce, 2 cloves of garlic and half fat creme fraiche. I also added a handful of grated Parmesan to the sauce and more for serving, really tasty, quick & simple little meal. My boyfriend mmmmmmed all the way through eating it and went back for seconds! Will definitely be making again.

I just made this for dinner using chicken breast strips instead of whole breasts. Added mushrooms and onions to give it abit of a boost - absolutely beautiful!!!

I doubled this up for the family and chopped the chicken. It turned out really tasty and there were complaints that there were no leftovers or seconds. Will deffo make again and add a little parmesan for extra taste.

I added garlic to this and chopped up the chicken so it cooked quicker. I also sprinkled in some cajun seasoning when the chicken was cooking to add additional flavour!

Could not find cooked penne so had to cook separately. Still a nice dish and easy to make.

This is a fantastic recipe. I dice chicken thigh as we all prefer it to breast meat, having no peas I used Broad beans blanched and popped out of the skin (adds to the prep time, but worth it IMO). Was worried about the lack of herbs, but it really doesn't need it. I also never measure the wine or cream just go for what I have and reduce it as necessary!!!

And I used cabbage instead of peas as I don't like them

Made this and absolutely LOVED it! Deliciously creamy, chopped up the chicken into pieces and made later without pasta for my dad who doesn't like pasta and served with mashed potato.

Made this for the first time today and thought it was delicious. Great mid week recipe when time is short. Would probably double up on the liquids though as the sauce didn't seem to coat all of the pasta.

Was looking for something fairly quick to make for supper and came across this dish. Thought it was absolutely delicious, as did my hubby.
Only criticism is that the sauce doesn't go very far, so perhaps will double the quantities next time I make, which I imagine will be lots!!!!

Made this last night for me and OH. I added an onion and 2 garlic cloves apart from that stuck to the recipe and I thought it was extremely bland. Oh and I added Parmesan. Don't understand how others are raving about this recipe. It was completely tasteless. Will maybe change the recipe slightly more next time to see if I can improve
