Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C, gas mark 4
  2. Cream butter and sugars, once creamed, combine in the egg and vanilla.
  3. Sift in the flour and salt, then the chocolate chips.
  4. Roll into walnut size balls, for a more homemade look, or roll into a long, thick sausage shape and slice to make neater looking cookies.
  5. Place on ungreased baking paper. If you want to have the real Millies experience then bake for just 7 minutes, till the cookies are just setting - the cookies will be really doughy and delicious. Otherwise cook for 10 minutes until just golden round the edges.
  6. Take out of the oven and leave to harden for a minute before transferring to a wire cooling rack. These are great warm, and they also store well, if they don't all get eaten straight away!

I substituted 60g of the flour for cocoa powder to make a double chocolate version I also split the mixture and added fudge pieces and soft toffee. They were both delicious, my sister and daughter loved them. Will definitely be making again for Christmas time :-)

Amazing cookies recipe, everyone loved them and they want me to make more! When I first made them I chopped up 2 snickers bars which was my dad's fave. The second time I used half white/half milk chocolate chips.

We have made this recipe a few times but this time the cookies have spread really quickly (the mixture did look wetter) and burnt round the edges - anyone know why this is?

Made this for all the family.....they didn't last long. Swapped 50g of the flour and used 50g of coco powder instead. Mmmm I keep coming back for more. Real easy to make and good for keeping my daughter occupied for a while

I made these a while ago but I used dark brown sugar instead of soft brown sugar and it worked a treat and the dark brown sugar gave it a lovely after taste. I did have to leave them in the oven a bit longer though

These are delicious! I think I'll cook half the recipe and freeze the dough for the other half. I put galaxy chocolate (cut into tiny chunks) into the mixture and smarties on the top of the dough balls before I baked them.

These were lovely - don't think they aren't cooked as they look really pale - they are. If you leave them longer, they are still nice. Other additional ingredients: Fudge chunks - added these (got a packet from co-op) and it was lovely. White choc chips Raisins I topped mine with melted chocolate drizzled across. Another thing - these make WAY more than 12. Twice as many!

Amazing - but be careful when spacing as they do expand a lot when cooking!
