Sticky chicken drumsticks

Remove the skin from the drumsticks to make this picnic favourite a low-fat treat

Method

  1. Mix everything but the chicken in a large bowl. Pull off the skin from the drumstick starting from the widest part. Slash through the thickest part with a knife 2-3 times. Toss with the sauce and season. Marinate in the fridge for an hour.
  2. Heat the oven to 200C/fan 180C/gas 6. Arrange the chicken in a single layer in a roasting tin lined with foil. Brush with half the marinade. Bake for 15 minutes then brush with a little more marinade. Cook for another 30 minutes brushing with the rest of the marinade after 15 minutes. Serve warm or cold.

    We loved this meal. Very easy and delicious. If one prepares several dishes this is perfect for a main course, because it doesn't need too much attention.

    These are brilliant. Really tasty, cheap to make and healthy. I've already made them 3 times in 2 weeks and I'm nota keen cook I use thighs and drummers on the bone I put in extra garlic and a load of chinese 5 spice for extra flavour Ive tried marinating them for 2 days vs 2 hours, and it doesnt seem to make a difference
