  Absolutely delicious! Loved the bacon in it - gave it a really nice taste. I used the mince to make a cottage pie - yum!

  I didn't have any beef mince so used lamb, and also added finely grated courgette & carrot (VERY fussy three year old). Served it as Shepherds Pie topped with mashed potato & sweet potato and it was fantastic! Two children had seconds who don't normally eat mince!!!!!

  Fantastic!! My fussy children loved it as a cottage pie. It made lots, but all the more for freezing!!! Would recommend, and will make it again!

  Oh yuk Didn't like this at all. Used the base mix with the bolognes recipe. Found it very bland so had to add tomato puree and - a jar of bolognes sauce to diguise the flavour. But, have to add that I can't get fresh thyme here (in Spain) so used dried, maybe that's what ruined it.

  I added grated carrot, made a Bechamel sauce, used lasagne sheets and made a lasagne. So yummy. My grandson loved it as well.

  I haven't made this but the photo clearly shows mushrooms which aren't listed in the ingredients. This always irritates me!

  I used this to make cottage pie - it was the best tasting cottage pie I have made!! - However it was a little bit dry so I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for how to add extra gravy to the mix? Thanks!

  Sounds lovely but hubby doesn't eat meat so vege mince I think, no bacon and vege stock cube which will cut back on the calories on something that is already low calorie.

  I haven't (yet) made this mix as it is virtually identical to a basic mince mix I have used happily for many years. Just wanted to say I often put smoked bacon in my mix for added flavour and to ring the changes.

  If you layer this mince with either lasagne sheets or cooked, slice potato and make a cheese sauce to pour on top, add an egg to the sauce which makes it incredibly light and fluffy.
