  This was yummy - I added some dried herbs & next time will add garlic since I only had normal chopped tomatoes. Will be making a batch to freeze.

  Really love this recipe, so tasty. Great way to eat your 5 a day! I found I had enough sauce to freeze half so a week later I turned some sausages into meatballs and added them to the sauce with mushrooms. This sauce has become a firm favourite in my house now.

  Just made this, and it tasted lovely, however, it is Not 5 portions of veg per serving! Each portion must be different. Whilst it has 4 portions of tomato, 4 of peppers and at a stretch 4 of carrot. 1 portion is a whole leek, 3 celery sticks, and a medium onion. So this gives you 3&abit of your 5-a-day. Minor quibble, but bit mis-advertised. I also found it was improved a lot by a) adding marmite and b) freezing and defrosting.

  This is a very yummy 'alternative' to the pasta sauces that I usually make. I added more cheese than in the recipe though as I love cheese (and also stuck a bit of blue cheese in-it was yummy!) The recipe allowed for leftovers for the next day too-always a bonus in our house!

  I love this recipe! Its so easy, I make a big batch of it and freeze it in portions when I have carrots and celery in the fridge that need to be used. Its tasty AND good for you!

  Made this in a desperate attempt to get my stubborn daughter to eat more vegetables. I told her the sauce was a normal tomato one and she wolfed down 2 portions unknowingly. Success.

  This is delicious, you can even turn it into a soup if you want with some chicken stock and a little cream at the end, a definite keeper!

  Spot on whitechoco84. Even if you dont like spicy food a teaspoon of chilli flakes just lifts the flavour. Obviously the hotter you like it the more you need to add. I like to add Maggi seasoning towards the beginning of the recipe as well.

  Delicious, everyone in my family loves this. I add fresh garlic and chilli's. I make loads & freeze it, and I have used it as lasagne sauce & pizza sauce as well.

  Great veggie sauce - easy to make and ideal for freezing. I used a tomato, basil and chilli tomato sauce plus a can of standard tomatoes after reading some of the other reviews. Also stirred through some creme fraiche for the last few minutes which gives it a lovely smooth texture.
