  Made this for the very first time on Christmas day. I took it to my sister's for part of Christmas lunch, there were 9 of us. Some had it instead of Christmas pub, some had it as well as. Everyone liked it though. My husband wants me to make it again. Happy New Year

  This is awesome - the ultimate comfort food - I made it even more luxurious for Christmas by adding some homemade mincemeat and/or orange zest. Cant stop making it - it's also a lovely gift for a neighbour in this foul weather!

  Made this with slightly stale hot cross buns (sliced in half as if you're going to toast them, then each half into a smaller triangle) and added cinnamon and mixed spice into the custard. Very yummy easter treat!

  I wouldnt use normal bread as Panettone as that is sweet and much lighter than normal bread.

  This really is as simple as everyone suggests and it went down very well after a Sunday roast. tasty but not too filling. Unfortunately, I used a dish that was too deep so there wasn't enough cream to cover the panettone sufficiently. I think I will also use a plain panettone next time as the one I used had too many dried fruits in it.

  Made this with pain au chocolat which was not too bad and also with choc chip brioche which is very nice indeed. So easy to make.

  Hi Jessy, there is a wide selection of Loison Panettone, which you can order online at www.melodiafood.com. This year we have added a fig panettone, which is very popular. Some supermarkets do stock them, but it's usually only in the run up to Christmas and they tend not to be as fresh as the ones which are imported directly from Milan.

  This is a fantastic recipe and works well with brioche as well especially if you wanted to add some chocolate and serve with a raspberry sauce.

  I made this with panettone but I spread Nutella choc spread on the slices and then sprinkled 100g plain choc chips in amongst it. It was delicious!
