  This is an excellent idea for a quick meal. I make up a version inspired by this recipe last night, using fresh peppers, tomato and mushrooms and a can of mixed beans in place of the kidney beans and chickpeas. So quick, very filling and tastes great!

  @AlexandraaaS Er, what was 'pants' about it? Maybe You didn't follow the recipe. I've yet to make it (have to improvise a bit, as Waitrose Chilli and Tomato sauce is unavailable here) but it got the "tested" flag, and I've never been disappointed by any meal that has this "Red Tick". "Cingor"'s link (above yours looks like worth a try, but a) I have no idea how much a 'cup' is, and b) the recipe the article is about is for poor British students. Her linked-to-recipe seems to be for wealthy American ones ;-) 16 ingredients !!!

  This was a really easy to make meal with lots of flavour. I made my own tomato sauce with cherry tomatoes simmered, with chilli, tomoato puree and a bit of sugar.

  Really easy, and very tasty for such a quick meal. I used a tin of mixed beans instead of two separate types, and added mushrooms and some chilli powder, because I prefer my chilli to be HOT! ;-)

  This was a quick and tasty supper. I used a can of chopped tomatoes and a can of red kidney beans in chilli sauce from Tesco instead of the tomato sauce. I added half a teaspoon of chilli powder to make it hotter too although the chorizo added lots of flavour and spice. I will be making this again!

  Really, REALLY easy and dead cheap too! I've made this quite a few times now... try adding some shredded left over roast chicken a few mins from the end of the cooking time... BRILLIANT!

  Great recipe - easy to make. Instead of adding water I'd try adding a can of chopped tomatoes to thicken the sauce, and also maybe some mushrooms or red peppers would go nice with this. I served this with herby cous cous, instead of rice, and it tasted lovely.

  I cooked this on a boat (no fridge, just a cool box), so was in search of a chorizo recipe. It was delicious. I used one tin of mixed pulses rather than the two types of beans, with a pot of fresh Arrabitta sauce from Sainsburys. Absolutely delicious and ready quicker than the rice could cook.

  So simple, so quick and so tasty. No complaints. I didnt use ready made sauce but some passata and added garlic and chilli. Also used a can of mixed beans in chilli sauce. Included a sprinking of cumin too. Will certainly make again soon!

  we love this recipe and my two littluns love it. I don't use the sauce suggested as we live abroad and therefore don't have waitrose! I use tinned tomatoes and some BBQ sauce instead, or tabasco if it's just for adults. Turns out yum with either! definitely a regular family meal.

  fuss-free, filling and satisfying recipe. We had the baked potato and soured cream version which was really good, and as we will be making it again, will certainly try the rice and yogurt one. Would definitely recommend!
