Method

  1. Heat oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6. Mix the sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Whisk egg white, then roll the plums first in egg white and then the cinnamon sugar until very well coated in a sugary crust.
  2. Space apart in a buttered baking dish, then bake for 15 mins or until the plums are crusty, cooked through and starting to be juicy. To test, poke in a cocktail stick; if it goes in easily, they are ready.

I have made this twice now. It is utterly delicious. Lovely with creme frieche or ice cream.

Kids love this, although one of them prefers it without the cinammon. Very very tasy and easy peasy lemon squeezy to do. Just add a big dollop of vanilla ice cream to finish off.

I thought this was brilliant! Very easy to prepare and it tasted fresh and healthy but still like a treat! Three plums each was a bit much though, (especially when served with ice cream) so in future would probably stick to 2 plums per person.

This was delicious. I cut the plums in half, stoned them and baked the cut-side down. Instead of brushing with egg white one could also just keep the plums slightly wet after washing them, sugar and cinnamon will still stick. So simple but really good

wonderful dish, so simple and festive! This is a fancy dessert that looks elegant when paired with cream/ice cream, thanks for sharing!! US Measurements: 3/4 cup sugar ¼ tsp cinnamon 375F oven for 15minutes I added vanilla to my egg whites and only 6 plums, so I had some leftover sugar mixture. It seems easy to just make one or two when desired!

This is a bit fiddly and messy but well worth it. Utterly delicious and guilt free

Cooked these as per recipe but found plums were not cooked through enough. Became messy trying to prise the stones out as well. Have since tried the version by VC (12th Nov 2010) and this has now beome one of my favourite desserts. A delight with creme frieche. Delicious!

Absolutely delicious with custard, cream or ice cream. Stoned the plums before cooking, and they did need a bit longer to cook to become tender. Really lovely!
