Two of our favourite things - peanut butter and brownies - combine to make these irresistible treats

  • 225g crunchy peanut butter
  • 200g bar dark chocolate, broken into pieces
  • 280g soft light brown sugar
  • 3 medium eggs
  • 100g self-raising flour


  1. Set aside 50g each of the peanut butter and chocolate. Heat oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4 and line a 20cm square baking tin with baking parchment. Gently melt remaining peanut butter, chocolate and all the sugar in a pan, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has just about melted. Turn off heat and use a wooden spoon to beat in the eggs one by one. Stir in the flour and scrape into the tin.

  2. Melt reserved peanut butter in the microwave on High for 45 secs, or in a pan, until runny, then drizzle over the brownie. Bake for 30-35 mins until it has a crust, but the middle still seems slightly uncooked.

  3. Melt reserved chocolate, drizzle over the brownie, then cool in the tin before cutting into squares.

Yummy! Planned on making this with dairy milk chocolate but at the last minute realised I had ran out of brown sugar, risked using demerera instead and did worry it wouldn't come out right but it came out perfect. I also reduced time in the oven to 20mins after reading comments beforehand, would have been overcooked after the recommended time, but I suppose it depends on you're oven.

Really good - everyone loved the peanut butter twist to the brownies. I think 25-27 mins of baking is enough too. Will definitely make them again!

I didn't have any choc so I used high quality cocoa, also didn't have quite enough peanut butter (200g) but actually these turned out really well, if a little dry. I'd agree with others who say the cooking time is too long, I took these out after 25 mins and they were already overcooked at the edges. However, will definitely make again with proper choc. Quick, easy and v tasty.

I baked them for 25 mins and they were still slightly squidgy - how brownies should be. I think 5 or 10 more minutes more would have resulted in over baking. Thanks for the tip :)

These were the best brownies I have had in a long time. I made milk chocolate brownies instead of dark chocolate and they were amazing with white chocolate chips. My oven took slightly longer but it was worth it. Everyone loved them :) Struggling to find a good regular brownie recipe but will keep searching. Going to try orange or mint dark chocolate brownies soon :)

Just made these and annihilated two servings already... they are soooooo goooooood and really easy to make. I used 85% dark chocolate, which works great inside the brownie, but is perhaps a tad too dark for the drizzle. So I might tone it down next time.

Absolutely delicious! It hadn't seemed to have set at all inside, even after 30mins in the oven, but after leaving it to cool, it set to a perfect, gooey consistency. Made for friends, and they all loved it, will definitely make again.

Made this as a brownie cake for a birthday. So tasty! Cooked for 25 minutes after reading the comments and came out beautifully. Really gooey and tasty. Only problem I had was melting the 50g of peanut butter for drizzling, for some reason mine wouldn't melt so I added a bit of butter to help it along. Other than that perfect recipe!

Absolutely amazing. I read the comments and baked for only 20 mins and they turned out perfectly, really gooey but not undercooked. Any longer and they would have gone cakey.

Totally delicious and an easy recipe to follow. I baked for about 30 mins but will probably try for 25 mins next time as not gooey enough inside.

Oh dear! These brownies are too good. Lovely, chocolately, nutty, moist and squidgy. Definitely one to make again. Would be lovely for something different to make for school/summer fete cake stalls. Really easy and cuts well too.

Ridiculously delicious! I baked mine for around 20 mins as they seemed to be done enough on top... it turned out that they were still pretty gooey in the middle but that's how I like them so it was fine. The sweetness of the chocolate and the saltiness of the peanut butter go together perfectly. I'll definitely be making them again!

Absolutely toatally wicked!! my kids (teens) ask when I am going to bake them again as they are finishing them off! I make them just as the recipe says and they come out perfect! I guess it depends on individual oven temperature, a sure hit in our household ;)

Made these today and were simple and easy to make, with not much washing up. Which is always a bonus! Only cooked them for 15 in a fan over becuase i adore really squidgy brownies. The texture was perfect but didn't really taste of chocolate...

Easy to make and they are delish... I used a bit of cocoa as I only had 100g of chocolate and had to substitute some the soft light brown sugar for about 50g of dark muscovado sugar.

Amazing. I too made them wheat and dairy free and love how easy that was to do. I agree with cooking times being a tad too long but that just means I have an excuse to sit by the oven watching them cook in our cold house =P
