  Its nice to see a naan bread recipe. Does it freeze well? If it does, at what stage? I hate the supermarket version..

  It should freeze but im not entireley sure if it would taste as good as the fresh version. Enjoy when cooking :D . I assure you that you will enjoy this recipe.

  can you do this in a hot frying pan on top of stove as my grill is part of my oven so can not do both at the same time. not made naan before this is my first time.

  These came out divine! I have previously tried few naan bread recipes, but i didn't like neither the taste nor the texture of them. These however, were by far the best naan i have had in a long while! Easy to make , the taste and texture were terrific! I made half the recipe, just to try them, and they disappeared before i sat on the table! Thanks for the recipe!

  Tried this last night. Success with the whole family. As a frequent visitor to Sparkbrook curry houses I can say the bread was very authentic. My only problem was that it didn't really rise that much in the hour but this may have been the milk being too hot and may have too the edge off the yeast. Also a good base naan recipe for other naan variations.

  I make these regularly and they always go down a treat! I have made them early in the day and left them wrapped in a clean tea towel. To re-heat I either cut them in half and blast them in my toaster to warm or wrap them in tin foil and warm through in the oven.

  These are great, the recipe takes some finding though as if our search for naan on this site this isn't a result, however it is if you google naan. Come on good food :-)

  Sauvignontank, thats what happened to me too. I tried a search for Naan bread and it just took me to recipes that used shop bought Naans. They should make it easier to find. I googled it and it came up with this.... shabby search facility Good Food.

  This was a complete disaster. The dried active yeast may have been the problem. Just how hot is hand hot and how frothy is frothy? The yeast appeared to froth slightly and after forty minutes I made the mix. The whole lot was very sticky as though there was too much liquid in it, it resembled a sponge mix in texture, forget kneeding it, the challenge was to get it off your hands. I tried again this time with some new dried active yeast, I carefully double checked all the ingredient amounts just in case I had made a mistake with the first attempt, the result was just the same,absolutely no chance of ever rolling it, neither attempt "doubled in size", and stuck like glue to the fingers whilst trying to kneed it. Both attempts ended up in the bin, neither made it to the oven.

  Aaah...I only found this recipe from a google search too. I realise now that I search tested recipes only but this is a member recipe. So if you type in 'naan' and mark the box 'show all' then this recipe WILL come up. Worth remembering to 'show all' in future searches so not to miss a gem like this. Best ever home made naans by the way!

  I have just made this and it has made the most perfect naan bread! The house smells Devine. It was quite a sticky mixture but it worked out well in the end.

  Fairly easy to make, and went down a treat. We had to have seconds of the curry to have another naan!!!

  Didnt have yogurt, so i used philadelphia. also used wholemeal bread flour and added 1 cup of poppy seeds to the mix, turned out great will combine this with a curry tomorrow!

  Absolutely fantastic recipe, there are a lot of naan recipes out there but this one is definitely the best. The consistency was great and the naans really puffed up and were very light. I brushed mine with a mix of chopped coriander, garlic and butter and they tasted amazing. Highly recommend and can't wait to make another batch!

  I had the same experience as Dave.. Too sloppy after leaving it to rise I still could not do anything with it.. I had to bin it... I followed the instructions to the letter.. Any advice from you guys who had great results?.. eg try less milk ? More flour? or just buy some pre made ones :-)
