Method

  1. Squeeze 3 balls of meat from each sausage, then fry in the oil for 5 mins until golden. While they cook, put the potatoes on to boil for 10 mins until tender. Add the peppers to the pan, then fry for 4 mins more. Tip in the garlic and spices, fry for 1 min, then add the beans, tomatoes and sugar. Simmer for 5 mins until saucy and the meatballs are cooked.

  2. Drain the potatoes, then crush with a masher. Fold through the yogurt and chives, loosen with a splash of water, then serve with the chilli. Top with a dollop more yogurt and sprinkling of chives, if you like.

Very tasty,
Though I'd recommend grilling the sausages first, then chopping them up and adding them to the pan with the peppers and spices.

It's quicker, and means you can keep some crispy sausage 'skin' in your chilli. Yum yum.

This was a very good family supper although I changed it a little. I made the sauce and served it with the sausages which I cooked separately. Also served the potatoes roasted and the yogurt with the chopped chives stirred into it to spoon on the side. Everyone enjoyed it.

I liked this recipe, however my OH seemed to like it a lot more, It was tasty and relatively easy to do but I found it quite watery and so cooked it for longer to make it slightly thicker. Did not make the potatoes but will try them as well next time.
