Method

  1. Squeeze 3 balls of meat from each sausage, then fry in the oil for 5 mins until golden. While they cook, put the potatoes on to boil for 10 mins until tender. Add the peppers to the pan, then fry for 4 mins more. Tip in the garlic and spices, fry for 1 min, then add the beans, tomatoes and sugar. Simmer for 5 mins until saucy and the meatballs are cooked.
  2. Drain the potatoes, then crush with a masher. Fold through the yogurt and chives, loosen with a splash of water, then serve with the chilli. Top with a dollop more yogurt and sprinkling of chives, if you like.

I liked this recipe, however my OH seemed to like it a lot more, It was tasty and relatively easy to do but I found it quite watery and so cooked it for longer to make it slightly thicker. Did not make the potatoes but will try them as well next time.

This was a very good family supper although I changed it a little. I made the sauce and served it with the sausages which I cooked separately. Also served the potatoes roasted and the yogurt with the chopped chives stirred into it to spoon on the side. Everyone enjoyed it.

Very tasty, Though I'd recommend grilling the sausages first, then chopping them up and adding them to the pan with the peppers and spices. It's quicker, and means you can keep some crispy sausage 'skin' in your chilli. Yum yum.

I cooked this recipe for my boyfriend and I. I didnt have any greek yogurt for the potatoes so I used 1 tbsp crème fraîche, 1 tbsp butter, salt & pepper and still included the chives. We thought the chilli were a little too watery from the tomatoe juice. If i were to make this recipe again i would either use only 1 tin of tomatoes or not pour as much tomatoe juice in. We really enjoyed the crush potatoes!

I cooked this tonight and was very happy with it. I didn't use the yogurt in the potatoes, only because my yogurt was past it's best so I just mixed them with a bit of margarine instead. Such an easy and quick dish to make but so flavourful. My husband says he thinks he likes it better than regular chilli and says I definately have to make it again.

Great recipe, quick and easy to prepare and tasted great. Used half fat creme fraiche and dried chives in the potatoes and it worked out great, a little sourness against the chilli and real change from rice. Definately making again.

Nice and really very quick, the potatoes were great but the wateriness of the sauce takes away from them a bit. If i were to make it again, I'd probably just slice the sausages and brown them with the skin on, and add just one can of tomatoes.

I absolutely love this. I have to leave out the kidney beans, as my husband can't stand them, but it still tastes great and it's so easy to knock up after a long day at work. Brilliant.

Loved this recipe. I used ready made meatballs & instead of yogurt & fresh chives, I put in a dollop of low fat Philly cheese with chives and it tasted great.

Enjoyed this last dish, I ended up breaking my sausages up a bit smaller and served with chive mash using normal potatoes and fromage frais instead of yoghurt.

Cooked this recipe this evening and really enjoyed it. I agree with some of the other comments about it being too watery. I simmered it for 5-10 minutes longer to thicken it up. I also prefer my chilli with a little more kick so I added a chilli sauce I have whilst simmering to zing it up a bit! The crushed potato's were excellent. Would definitely recommend this dish. Enjoy...

Great recipe, easy to make. Only used one tin of tomatoes and creme fraiche in the potatoes. Very tasty and the potatoes made a wonderful change to the usual rice.
