Method

  1. Put the first 9 ingredients in a food processor and whizz until broken down. Tip into a bowl, mix in the halloumi, and form into 6 burgers. You can either cook these in a frying pan with a little olive oil until golden or BBQ for 2-3 minutes each side (just brush with oil beforehand to stop them sticking).
  2. Serve in grilled pittas with houmous, lettuce and pickled chillies.

These look lovely, some of my favourite ingredients, but watch the salt as some halloumi can be seriously salty!

This is just ok. I like all of the ingredients. but the end result was kind of stodgey. The taste was nice, but the texture horrible.

I just made these burgers. They were delicious although we would have loved to find more chilli - the green thaï chillies I used were very small- and more green onion : on the picture I can see green spots in the falafels, my version is a dull beige, no green spots... Next time I will add more chilli, more green onion, mint and coriander leaves. I served the burgers with a fatoush salad, romaine lettuce, tomato, cucumber, spring onion, mint, coriander, lemon juice, olive oil and crunchy pitta breads ( grilled on the bbq along with the falafel burgers)

I forgot to mention that brushing the burgers with olive oil didn't prevent the sticking... They made a mess and were barely presentable. But once hidden inside the pitta breads... ^^

The burgers were delicious indeed. It was difficult to make them stick together. They came out of the pan a bit messy. I'll need to find a way to make them not fall apart. Unfortunately I could not find the halloumi cheese. I used a greek sheep/goat feta instead which turned out quite deliciously.

Wasn't sure about this when I made it but it was great! The burgers are a bit crumbly but a little bit of oil helped with this. They taste really nice and you can really taste the halloumi :)

I couldn't find halloumi cheese either so added cheddar and i breadcrumbed them too, as from past experience i know how messy and difficult they can be when cooking. I fried them in a couple of good glugs of olive oil too.
