Method

  1. Crumble the mince in a large bowl, then tip in the breadcrumbs, cheese, Worcestershire sauce, parsley and eggs with 1 tsp ground pepper and 1-2 tsp salt. Mix with your hands to combine everything thoroughly.
  2. Shape the mix into 12 burgers. Chill until ready to cook for up to 24 hrs. Or freeze for up to 3 months. Just stack between squares of baking parchment to stop the burgers sticking together, then wrap well. Defrost overnight in the fridge before cooking.
  3. To cook the burgers, heat grill to high. Grill burgers for 6-8 mins on each side until cooked through. Meanwhile, warm as many buns as you need in a foil-covered tray below the grilling burgers. Let everyone assemble their own, served with their favourite accompaniments.

These were great. Shaped really well and cooked like a dream (I did fry them though rather then grill). Went down very well in our house. I liked the fact the cheese was part of the burger mix.

Have prepared these burgers for dinner tonight, kids loved breaking up the bread into crumbs and getting there hands dirty, very hands on meal and the kids looking forward to them... kids will have salad and waffles and then we adults will have garlic and chilli roasties

A great easy burger recipe. The cheese being part of the burger mix made them really moist. I omitted the breadcrumb as have a gluten intolerence but the burgers worked well without this.

Really easy to make, although I fried instead of grilled. Will definitely make this recipe again. So basic you can't go wrong.

Having read the reviews I was looking forward to these burgers, but I have to say they were awful! There is so much bread in them that they are not a nice texture and the cheese just makes them fatty, even though I always use very lean mince. Usually the reviews are spot on, but on this occasion I have been left less than impressed. I'll go back to my tried and tested burger recipe, which is far tastier than this fatty bready mixture!
