Method

  1. Heat oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6. In a large bowl, mix the ketchup, garlic, sugar, half the sweet chilli sauce and the soy sauce with some seasoning. Tip in the wings and toss to combine so that they are all coated. Transfer to a large roasting tray or two smaller ones, in a single layer. Roast for 35-40 mins until cooked through and golden.
  2. Meanwhile, make the slaw. Mix the vegetables with remaining chilli sauce, salad cream or mayo and seasoning. Pile the wings onto a large platter and transfer the slaw to a serving bowl. Let everyone dig in and help themselves.

The marinade was quite spicy but by the time it was cooked, there was no heat so you may want to put some extra chilli sauce in, but the taste of the cooked sauce was lovely. Nice and easy too.

Made this today, was quite nice. I replaced sweet chilli sauce with 1 tbsp of ground red chilli, but probably could have added more of that.

Very nice, I left the chicken marinading in the mixture while I did the school run. The chicken cooked a lot quicker than stated, so keep an eye on it or it will be burnt to a crisp! Could easily have put more chilli in for adults, but my 8 year old wolfed these down, then was quite horrified when I told her there was chilli in the mixture! Shes alwways refused to try anything with chilli or too much spice, so I figured Id just try these and tell her after. Yum!

I made this recipe using chicken drumsticks with the skin removed. So delicious, definitely sweet & sticky, make sure you have plenty of napkins! Not too 'chilli,' my youngster scoffed his and asked for more :)

DELICIOUS barbecue wings with a hint of spice, and we had lots of sauce remaining to dunk them in as well, which is impressive as our oven usually dries everything out. I didn't have any garlic, so I left that out, and I put a few chilli flakes in as well as the sauce, after reading about what others said about them not being that spicy. Loved them.

I kept to the recipe with the exception of adding a fresh chilli to give it an extra kick. Very sticky and tasty. Will become a regular.

Made it yesterday for lunch. It wasn't too spicy, which my guest didn't mind at all, but I do like an extra kick. So, next time a dash of tabasco will go in... Otherwise, sticky and tasty. Worked out a treat.

When it says "mix the ketchup...with some seasoning", at the beginning of the recipe, what seasoning do you recommend?
