Method

  1. Heat the oil in a large pan, tip in the onions and cook for 10 mins until soft and golden. Add the pork and mushrooms and cook on a high heat for 3-4 mins until browned. Add the paprika and cook for 1 min more.
  2. Stir in the tomato purée, then pour on the stock and simmer for 5-8 mins until the pork is cooked through. Finally, mix in the soured cream and some seasoning. Serve with egg noodles, tagliatelle or rice, and an extra dollop of soured cream, if you like.

A wonderful recipe! Hearty yet healthy and SO quick and easy to make! A brilliant mid-week meal. Although I definitely think it would be great for a dinner party too. Made it for my husband and his friend who raved about it! Although not sure how it serves 5 - it just about served two lads (albeit with large appetites!) and me! Served with rice and green beans, and an extra dollop of sour cream. Bet it's good with mash too. Going to be a firm fave in our house!

Although I quite enjoyed this, others felt it needed a bit more of a kick. If I make it again, I'll use chilli - or I like the idea of red pepper!

Pretty awful! Didn't put in anywhere near the recommended amount of paprika and it was far too peppery for us! :( Nothing special and the pepper dominates everything else. enough to put us off our dinner!

Absolutely delicious. A family favourite - the only way I can get my two year old to eat pork is to serve this and she often asks for more! We serve it with wholegrain rice and steamed green beans for that extra touch.

Made this recipe yesterday to mixed reviews! The sauce is very tasty but my children thought it would be nicer with chicken as the pork didn't absorb the flavour of the sauce. Having said that my husband really liked it with the pork. Would definitely cook it again as very easy but will try with chicken next time!

Used reduced fat soured cream to make it even healthier and it was lovely - I also added a bit of normal paprika as well as the recommended amount of smoked and a red pepper and it worked really well. I was surprised at how tasty it was - as people have already mentioned. I served with rice - it would be nice with pasta too. Sprinkled a little fresh parsley on top as well and that finished it off well.

Was looking forward to this for weeks, but rather disappointed overall. The combination of paprika and tomato puree made the sauce taste much like something you might make from a packet mix (despite my v high quality chicken stock).

After not much research, it would seem to be a v good substitute!

Would low fat Greek Yog work instead of soured cream as I have some to use up!?

Perfect work night dinner recipe - easy to prep, hardly any ingredients, and a really tasty meal - even better, my teenage boy gave me a compliment for it, so wow it must be good!

Simple dish which tastes fantastic with rice. I added a red pepper and some red chilli flakes for extra spice as well a few cloves of garlic. Definately one to cook again

all thought this was excellent. left out mushrooms and was plenty for 3, not sure it would have done 4 - or are we greedy!? used tsp instead of tbs of paprika by accident but it was hot enough.

Made this tonight for our tea - was really simple and quick. Took heed from the suggestions to add some chilli but think I went a bit overboard and now our mouths are on fire! Was really tasty though and have a portion left over too for another night. Will definitely make this again. Was thinking too... The people that said it was too bland, did you use smoked paprika? There is loads more flavour with the smoked than the normal.

Very nice but needs some chilli or something to give it a kick - a little bland otherwise. Good with additional peppers.
