Method

  1. Heat grill to high. In a large, non-stick frying pan, fry the mince until browned. Add the garlic, sugar and herbs, and cook for 1 min more. Pour over the passata, add seasoning, then simmer while you cook pasta, following the pack instructions.
  2. Meanwhile, mix the crème fraîche and Parmesan. Spoon half the mince into an ovenproof dish. Mix the rest with the pasta and pour this on top. Drizzle over the Parmesan cream and grill until golden and bubbling. Serve with salad and garlic bread.

Very easy to make and really delicious. Will definitely make again, but maybe with a little less sugar. A touch too sweet!

This was really nice and went down well with the whole family. I used fusilli pasta as that's what I had in the cupboard and added a tsp of sugar rather than a tbsp as it sounded a lot and someone commented that it was too sweet.

I replaced the minced beef with 2 tins of tuna and also used 1tsp of sugar - a tablespoon is far too much. Also fried up an onion to add to the mixture. This was really lovely and the unusual topping went very well too.

This went down a storm, my teenage daughter is unbelievably fussy and claimed she wouldnt like this. However, she managed to force this down and her plate was scraped clean and had seconds!! Well recommended, very easy and quick to make. Brilliant family tea.

This was one of the tastiest pasta meals I've ever had. We only had a packet of 500 ml of passata with nothing added so we just fried up an onion first with some crushed garlic. To make up for the lack of passata we just added a little bit of water, some tomato puree and a dash of worcester sauce. Every one is right about the sugar, you only need a teaspoon NOT a tablespoon. I thought this was a great mid week meal especially as it made a big portion, definately enough for six. (unless you have a husband like mine who ate four portions whilst my daughter and I had a portion each!) So serve with garlic bread if you have burly blokes or large family ! - A great value meal with a great taste.

This was tasty comfort food. I made my own version of bolognese and then proceeded with the rest of the recipe - would do again.

We loved this, and it was SO easy. I only made 2 small changes to the recipe :- less sugar as suggested by others on here and I substituted the full fat creme fraiche with half fat. It was still lovely and creamy. A big hit with my family.

Am just cooking this and made a couple of changes as trying to use things we have rather than buy in foods specially. I had a half jar of pasta sauce left over which I have used instead of the passata and added some water and tom puree, also have fusilli pasta in the cupboard so that is being used instead. I fried some onion to start with too as someone else had tried this previously. I only have cheddar cheese so have used that in the creme fraiche with the help of my 5 year old so fingers crossed it will still be as tasty with these changes!?!

Made this on Saturday then again on Monday. Went down very well, even with my mum who is not keen on pasta or mince. I didn't add any sugar, garlic or herbs as I prefer more simple, less fussy food and it tasted great. I really like the combination of the grated cheese with the creme fraiche. I'll be adding it to a few more recipes.
