  • 2 garlic clove, finely sliced
  • 1 red chilli, deseeded and sliced


  1. Heat the oil in a large wok, then add the kale and a couple tbsp water. Season, then stir-fry for 5-8 mins, adding the garlic and chilli for the final 2 mins. When the kale is tender and a vibrant green, remove from the heat and serve.

This is a recipe from the U.S. South. Delicious. They do it with Kale or Collard Greens. I've done it with Spinach too.

fancied something different from my usual spinach on the side...tried this...was delicious..will defo be making again.

I think I didn't stir fry the kale for long enough, or I had old kale, because it was very fibery and tough. Decided I didn't like the taste of kale much either, so won't be trying this again.

Have made something similar. Omit the chilli, add chopped spring onions and crispy bacon pieces. Yum!
