Lesley Waters

A regular contributor to Good Food, Lesley is often encouraging parents to try out simple recipes and get kids in the kitchen.

Always smiling and full of enthusiasm, Lesley's a popular chef who appeals to all. Probably known best for her regular appearances on Ready Steady Cook, Lesley is one of our most successful female chefs. She contributes to Good Food and You Are What You Eat magazine on a regular basis and can be seen demonstrating on ITV 1's This Morning show.

Lesley studied French cuisine for three years at Ealing College. This included training at the Waldorf Hotel in London and led to her winning one gold and two silver medals at Hotelympia, (the Olympics of the food world) and also a scholarship to work at the Hotel Intercontinental, Dusseldorf.

Teaching what she loves

Aside from cooking, teaching is one of Lesley's great passions. She is a former Head Tutor of Leith's School of Food and Wine and it was here that she perfected her cookery demonstration and food photography skills.

Her bubbly personality shines through when she cooks and has made her a popular chef. This popularity, teamed with her ability to put people at ease when cooking, gave her the perfect foundations to combine her love of cooking and teaching and open her cookery school The Old Manor.

Set in the West Dorset countryside the school uses local produce from farms and the sea, providing the perfect ingredients for her guests. Her mission statement is 'to inspire, give confidence and have fun!' A statement that sums up Lesley's attitude to cooking perfectly.
