John Torode
The Australian-born restaurateur is something of a masterchef in his own right
Since arriving in London in 1992, John Torode has carved an impressive career for himself, establishing himself as a leading figure in the British food scene.
Past achievements have included senior chef stints at some of London's top restaurants including Quaglino's, Mezzo and the Bluebird. He currently runs Smiths of Smithfield - an amazing four-floor restaurant, cocktail bar and cafè fittingly located in the heart of the Smithfield market - specialising in meat and organic produce and turning out some of the finest steaks in the land.
Away from the kitchen
When not in the kitchen, John is probably best known for his role co-presenting Masterchef Goes Large with Gregg Wallace. He was also the resident chef on This Morning with Richard and Judy for four years as well as appearing on BBC's Saturday Kitchen.
Away from the cameras, John's recipes and writing appear in several newspapers and magazines including Good Food and Olive magazine.
